Musk wants to make Iron Man-style suit after Trump attack as he reveals two people have also tried to assassinate him
TECH tycoon Elon Musk is mulling plans to build an Iron Man-style “metal suit of armour” following the attempted assassination of former US president Donald Trump.
Musk, founder of Tesla and SpaceX, also revealed there had been two attempts on his own life within the past eight months.
“Maybe it’s time to build that flying metal suit of armor,” Musk wrote on X (formerly Twitter),
His comments came just after Musk offered his support for Trump’s 2024 presidency bid for the first time on Sunday.
Musk also donated an undisclosed sum to America PAC, a political action committee working to re-elect Trump, Bloomberg reported.
In light of Musk’s public endorsement of the Republican leader, some X users asked the Tesla boss to “beef up” his security.
Real life Iron Man suit: Is it possible?
An Iron Man-style suit would make the wearer near invincible, with super-human strength and the godly ability of flight.
But is it even possible?
The suit essentially acts as a powered exoskeleton with armored plating.
It is capable of enhancing the wearer’s strength, speed, agility, and endurance.
It also has propulsion beams built into the hands and feet that allow for flight.
And the Royal Navy has actually built something similar.
Footage released in 2022 shows servicemen hovering over the New York Harbour in an Iron Man-style jet suit that can reach speeds of up to 85mph and an altitude of 12,000ft.
It is flown by air jets coming out of the hands and feet, with true Iron Man flair.
Robotic exoskeletons are also being utilised in warehouses to help workers with heavy lifting.
German Bionic, a European exoskeleton manufacturer, builds mechanical wearable tools to help relieve up to 66 lbs (30 kg) from lifting.
The Iron Man suit, built by fictional Marvel billionaire Tony Stark, has an armoured helmet with a built-in holographic and augmented-reality (AR) display.
Recent advancements with the Apple Vision Pro spatial computer has unlocked what’s possible in terms of placing the digital over your real life vision.
The technology is out there, and Musk is seemingly poised to bring it all together.
Trump was shot at just minutes after he started to speak to his fans at a campaign event in rural Pennsylvania.
Shocking video caught the moment gunshots rang out from a nearby building as Trump was seen grimacing and grabbing his ear before he fell to the ground.
Secret Service agents shot Trump’s would-be assassin, Thomas Matthew Crooks, moments after the ex-president was hit.
Musk reportedly blamed the Secret Service for not preventing the attack, and alleged possible incompetence.
“Extreme incompetence or it was deliberate. Either way, the SS leadership must resign,” he posted on X.
In relation to Musk’s own assassinations attempts, the billionaire entrepreneur said he has survive two “separate occasions” within the past year.
“Dangerous times ahead,” Musk wrote on X.
“Two people (separate occasions) have already tried to kill me in the past 8 months.
“They were arrested with guns about 20 mins drive from Tesla HQ in Texas.”
