But many people took issue with her getting rid of the ‘old’ aesthetic[/caption]

In the clip, she said: “Operation make my house look less haunted is a go.”

Her giant house was gorgeous and grande in size, but being 126 years old without ever being cleaning it did look like a haunted mansion.

Katie revealed that they had planned to just clean the front of the house as that’s as far the budget would stretch.

The home-owner also added that there had been damage to the brick work they had to uncover.

She hired the experts to deal with the clean, using a mix of pressure washing and steam to clean the stone without causing any damage to the structure of the house.

While the house looked filthy and grey at the start of the video it soon turned into a gorgeous yellow house finally restored to its former glory.

Katie added: “If power washing is your thing, I’ve got you covered.

“Watch the porch of our home, built in 1898 come back to life. That’s 126 years of dirt and grime there.

“Surely we need to do the rest of the house now though?”

Now her house looked like the manor it once was, Katie was thrilled, but not everyone felt that way.

The clip quickly went viral on her TikTok account @comedowntothewoods with over 3 million views and 279k likes.

People were quick to share their thoughts in the comments.

One person wrote: “No, that is the history and charm of that home washed away.”

Another commented: “It’s history spoilt it now much prefer the old look.”

“That’s looks way better that the original idk why people hating,” penned a third.
