Tesco shoppers rush to buy Cadbury Christmas favourites hitting shelves early – and are all saying timing is just right

TESCO shoppers have rushed to stock up on tubs of Cadbury favourites after the supermarket slashed prices.

The supermarket is offering large tubs of both Roses and Heroes for £4.50, with a Tesco Clubcard, and shoppers say it’s the perfect time for the deal.

While the festive season remains a while off, many are saying the chocolate favourites make the perfect end-of-term presents for teachers.

Writing on Facebook one shopper said: “They are ready for thank you gifts for teachers“

Another added: “A few shops stock them for leavers present from children for their teachers. Chocolate [is] not just for Christmas!”

Containers of the popular chocolates, which normally retail for £6, were spotted piled high in Tesco – and despite it being July, customers are keen to grab them.

One said: “Might as well. Pretty sure the UK has completely skipped summer this year in favour of a monsoon season.”

Another added: “Woo woo yummy yummy.”

With little over a week until students wrap up the year the deal could be perfect to spoil favourite teachers – or even yourself.

Both tubs weigh 550g for an assortment of Cadbury’s favourites.

Heroes contain around 490 calories per 100g, while Roses stack up with 489 calories per 100g.

The large tubs are difficult to find at this time of year, usually making an appearance in time for Christmas.

Sainsbury’s is offering 290g boxes of Roses and Heroes for £4 with a Nectar card and both chocolates are available in the smaller size at the same price at Asda

Tesco is also offering a 600g tub of Quality Street for £5.40 with a Clubcard, down from its usual price of £6.

All of the chocolate tubs are also available to buy in the Tesco website for the same price, although remember that you may have delivery costs on top too.

It’s always worth checking around to find the best price so you know you’re getting a good deal.

Prices may vary day to day as well depending on what deals are on, and remember to look at delivery costs too if you’re ordering online.

What are Clubcard prices?

Using a Tesco Clubcard gives shoppers access to thousands of discounted products through Clubcard prices.

Clubcard prices are exclusive discounts only available to those showing their Clubcard at the checkout.

The prices are usually available on more than 8,000 items.

The items sold at special Clubcard prices change regularly and are clearly signposted in store.

Tesco has said Clubcard prices save the average member £351 on their annual shop.

What are the other Clubcard benefits?

With a Clubcard shoppers earn points as you shop, which can then be turned into vouchers for money off food or spent with Reward partners.

You earn one point for each £1 spent, and each point is then worth 1p.

So 150 points gets you £1.50, and you would have to spend £150 to get 150 points.

You need a minimum of 150 points to request a voucher.

Any vouchers are worth their face value when used in-store at Tesco.

But you can double their worth by spending them at one of the supermarket chain’s partners.

Any Clubcard points turned into vouchers expire after two years.

Any vouchers transferred into Reward Partner codes expire after six months.
