I earned £3k in just 11 days and spent them watching Netflix in bed – I even got free food
A WOMAN has revealed that she made £3000 in 11 days, from a side hustle that involved watching Netflix and eating free food.
Jenna Poppy, from Essex earned her cash by taking part in a FluCamp clinical trial.
FluCamp uses volunteers to test new treatments for respiratory illnesses such as Covid and the flu, in the hope of completely eradicating them.
During the trial volunteers are given a diluted version of the virus (to minimise the risk of them getting ill) and then a new flu treatment to try out.
Some volunteers are just given a placebo, but you will not be told if you this is you.
FluCamp is available to those aged 18-65, and you have to go through a strict screening process to make sure that you are healthy enough to take part in the trial.
Sharing her experience on TikTok, Jenna revealed that she spent the 11 days of her trial in a small, controlled room, which she was not allowed to leave.
The room was equipped with a TV, a Playstation and Wi-Fi, and Jenna was able to bring in her own laptop and anything else to entertain herself with.
Every day, she had her vitals taken and was given two doses of medication.
Jenna did not work during her time at FluCamp as she has a part-time job in retail, however, if you are able to work from home, you could do your job whilst taking part in the trial.
Throughout her stay, Jenna was provided with free food, however, she said that there wasn’t a massive amount of choice.
Jenna revealed that she really missed having a window during the trial, and was excited for the 11 days to be over.
“Get me out”, she said.
However, she was happy to receive £3000 for taking part in the trial, which is tax-free, as it is given as compenstation.
Jenna’s video, which was posted under the username @jenpoppy_, has likely left many people intrigued, as it has racked up over 1.8 million views on the video sharing platform.

Side hustles in numbers
Based on new research from Finder, an estimated 22.8 million Brits are using side hustles to top up their income.
Among those aged 18-23, 68 percent have a side hustle in 2024.
Those aged 24-42 aren’t far behind, with 65 per cent having an additional source of income.
Side hustles are less popular among older generations, with 40 percent of those aged 43-54 having one.
Whereas 23 percent of people aged 55-73 and just 7 per cent of those aged 74 and over are earning extra cash this way.
One woman joked: “As a mum with three kids, this sounds like a dream”.
Another person said: “I’m really thinking about doing one of these for a bit of peace and quiet”.
A third person said: “This would be a holiday for me. Sign me up”.
A fourth person said: “I want to get picked for this!”
