TWO Brit siblings known as the ‘Spud Brothers’ are flogging the UK’s cheapest jacket potato for just 30p – but you’ll have to be quick.
Preston social media celebrities, the Spud Brothers, are set to roll back the years and the prices with a sizzling celebration next Saturday.
The social media celebrities are slashing their prices for one day only to celebrate 70 years of their jacket potato cart.
The delicious potato spot is a popular gem for Preston locals.
Even Hollywood heartthrob Joe Jonas is a fan of these budget jackets.
To mark nearly 70 glorious years of business, these spud-savvy siblings are going retro, charging 1955 prices to celebrate their opening day back then.
The dynamic duo shared the big news on Facebook, posting throwback snaps and a nostalgic nod to the day the Hot Potato Tram first hit the streets.
It read: “On Saturday 20th July we will be officially opening the new HotPotatoTram.”
“We are thrilled that Keith Roberts Snr and his wife Trish have agreed to be our guests of honour.”
Keith Roberts Snr, the world’s longest-serving Spudman, will be joining the festivities with his wife Trish.
Their family’s potato empire, launched in 1955, has now become a local legend, and the Spud Brothers are pulling out all the stops to honour their legacy.
He said: “We are so proud of what Keith, his son Keith, and his family created back in 1955.
“To celebrate this, we are going back to 1955 prices for 1 day only.”

Preston residents are also speculating who this “very special guest” may be.
It seems cheap and cheerful is the best way to keep loyal customers.
Round the corner from Preston, the owner of Britain’s cheapest cafe where regulars come back every day has a full English breakfast on the menu that costs only £5.
Pete Doherty, owner of The Coffee House Cafe says he tries his best to keep the prices down for his loyal customers in Withington, Manchester.
Cheapest places to buy a full English
BRITS love a full English breakfast, particularly after a booze up the night before to soak up all the alcohol left in your system.
One place where you can get a cheap one anywhere in the counter is a Wetherspoons.
For roughly £5.50, depending on which branch you visit, you get a fried egg, bacon, sausage, baked beans, two hash browns and slice of toast with butter.
At the Coffee House Cafe in Withington you can nab a lighter option of a full English for less than a fiver – at £4.55, the Manchester Evening News reported.
For that you get two slices of bacon, a sausage, a perfectly runny and golden over easy egg, two slices of beautifully buttery Hovis toast, some fried mushrooms and a choice of beans or tomatoes.
In Wrexham, Wales, you can score a full English at the 130-year-old Marubbi’s Café from £5.50.
Further south in London, prices are a little higher.
Half Moon Cafe in Hammersmith does a full English for £7.50 despite being in the middle of one of the most expensive locations in the country.
He said: “If you are a builder you should not have to pay £40 every week for breakfasts.
“I am trying to keep the costs low for customers. I have regulars who are mainly students, builders and pensioners.
“Some customers come in every day, a lot live around here.”
Three such customers are lorry drivers Rick Sunderland, Luis Shaw and Jordana King who stop off at the cafe a couple of times a week for a full fry up and claim the breakfasts are the cheapest and best value in the city.
Rick said: “They (the breakfasts) are cheap and they are really good – the best value around. They are really good quality and we come here every week.”
Jordana said: “It’s a friendly place, dead welcoming and the breakfasts are cheap enough.”
The cafe is adorned with a mural of the Manchester United player Marcus Rashford on the wall outside.
It has Formica topped tables and chairs, fridges of cold drinks and a fuss free counter where customers quickly order.
A full English consisting of two bacon, fresh mushrooms, one sausage and a fried egg with buttered toast and a choice of beans or tomatoes, costs a mere £5.50.
One customer said the meal as piping hot, the fried egg had a lovely runny golden yolk, and the two slices of bacon were lean and crispy.
It’s an extra £1.45 for super hungry customers to upgrade to a ‘monster’ breakfast with additional hash browns, black pudding and extra sausage and toast.
These northern gems prove you don’t have to pay through the roof for a decent, hearty meal.
Meanwhile, famous chefs have shared their favourite cheap places to dine in the new edition of Where Chefs Eat.
Elsewhere, some families are finding eating out more difficult with the rising cost of living.
