Fans want Neal Maupay ‘banned from the Premier League’ as he trolls England within seconds of Euro 2024 final ending
ENGLAND fans have called for Neal Maupay to be BANNED from the Premier League after he trolled England within minutes of the Euros final ending.
England lost the final against Spain thanks to a late goal from Mikel Oyarzabal.
It came after Cole Palmer had cancelled out Nico Williams‘ opener just minutes after he had come on as a substitute.
Maupay is infamous among Premier League fans for his antics of winding up opposition players.
But he appears to have brought that art to social media of late, with the Everton striker trolling rivals online.
Maupay, 27, claimed to be supporting England in the lead-up to the final and even donned an England shirt for their semi-finals against the Netherlands.
But it did not take long for the player to make a heel turn on the Three Lions after they lost in the final.
Moments after the final whistle, Maupay posted a screenshot from Love Island with the caption: “Nah I’m very sad, trust me.”
Fans did not “trust” Maupay’s sincerity though.
One angry fan responded on X saying: “You need to be banned from England and the PL.”

All the times Maupay has wound fans and players up
- Long running feud with James Maddison – Neal Maupay trolled James Maddison after scoring against Spurs in January by stealing his signature darts celebration. Spurs went on to win the game 3-2 but Maupay then took to social media to claim he lives in the player’s head “rent free”. Maupay then posted a picture of him in front of a darts board when Maddison was excluded from the England squad.
- Clashed with Man Utd star Scott McTominay and then invokes the wrath of darts star Luke Littler
- Clashed with then West Ham assistant manager Kevin Nolan, leading to Nolan being held back by players and stewards
- Clashes with Man City goalkeeper Ederson in a 3-1 loss
- Clashes with Man City star Kyle Walker with Walker claiming the forward insulted his family. Maupay denies this claim.
- Injured Arsenal keeper Bernd Leno, leading to the rise of Emi Martinez – and is indirectly credited with Argentina winning the World Cup in 2022
A second fan posted: “You are a disgrace to the England team.”
A third wrote: “I’m here to drink the English tears.”
Maybe Kane really is cursed as trophy drought goes on... he may never get a better chance with England
IT now seems as though he really is cursed. Along with the rest of us, writes Charlie Wyett.
Tragically, unbelievably, Harry Kane’s agonising search for a trophy still continues and you know have to wonder whether he will ever actually manage it.
Certainly for England, in any case.
Kane has now suffered defeat in three major club finals and two finals of the European Championships.
Last night, the Three Lions captain was so ineffective that he was replaced by Ollie Watkins just after the hour.
Like much of this tournament, he really struggled to make the impact when England needed him, not that he had much service.
He had one shot in the first half and that was Rodri, who subsequently injured himself and went off at the break.
When Cole Palmer struck that brilliant equaliser, Kane was off on his feet from the bench, only for the national team to get another kick in the bo**ocks at the end.
Kane was substituted in both the games against Switzerland and Holland which England went on to win but on this occasion, he could only witness a gut-wrenching twist just when it looked as though Gareth Southgate’s team had dug their way out of trouble.
The Bayern Munich striker suffered the World Cup 2018 semi-final loss against Croatia, endured heartbreak against Italy in the Euro2020 final and then missed from the spot in the World Cup 2022 quarter-final against France.
He really thought that this was his time, even though England did not play well in Germany.
Kane will know that he will have more opportunities with England. But not many more.
The World Cup in the United States, Canada and Mexico seems a long way away and it will surely be under a new manager. Will England be better than they are now? Probably not.
And we are all left to wonder how much better England would have been with a fit and firing Kane at his very best.

Maupay was responsible for multiple flashpoints in the Premier League last season, including a running rivalry with Spurs star James Maddison.
He also clashed with Aston Villa keeper Emiliano Martinez in the season run-in when Brentford played the Villains.
