Dog days of summer roll on: Above normal temps in Portland

We'll continue to stick with this warm and summery weather pattern in Portland as our daytime highs look to remain above normal.

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) – Hello, dog days of summer!  We'll continue to stick with this warm and summery weather pattern in Portland as our daytime highs look to remain above normal. For mid-July, our average high in Portland is 82 degrees.

But this upcoming workweek, we'll still see temps ranging from the upper 80s to low 90s -- with Tuesday being the exception.

Tuesday looks to be the hottest day of the week with daytime highs forecasted to climb into the mid to upper 90s around the metro area. We'll also track the movement of wildfire smoke over the valley from fires burning around the state.

And as of right now, there's still no rain in sight. Looking at the long-term forecast over the next 10 days, we are not seeing an increase in rain chances here in Portland.

The lack of rainfall and warmer-than-normal temperatures will continue to keep the wildfire threat elevated over the next week around our region, especially out near Pendleton.

For Monday morning, we could see a few clouds in the mix before that afternoon sunshine arrives and we reach the upper-80s across Portland.

Keep it locked on the KOIN 6 Weather Team for the latest updates on your forecast.
