Malta man falls asleep at wheel, crashes in Vermont
WOODFORD, Vt. (NEWS10) -- A Malta man was hospitalized after crashing in Woodford, Vermont early Monday morning. Vermont State Police say the man fell asleep at the wheel and suffered minor injuries.
Police responded to a crash involving one car near Vermont Route 9 and Erbs Way around 2:16 a.m. Police say the car left the roadway and struck a garage, causing significant damage to the structure.
Police say an investigation revealed the driver, from Malta, had fallen asleep behind the wheel. Vermont Route 9 was shut down while the car was removed from the roadway. The driver was taken to Southwestern Vermont Medical Center.
