Emmerdale fans will have to wait for their next visit to the Yorkshire Dales until Wednesday night when a double bill will air.

It’s axe from the schedule comes as ITV paves the way for live coverage of the latest England’s women football match.

The game will air from 5:30pm right up until 8:15pm across ITV1 and ITVX.

It comes as soap bosses have re-wrote an episode in a last minute change to pay tribute to England’s history-making Euros run.

Tonight, there will be reaction to the result from the characters Cain (Jeff Hordley) and Moira (Natalie J Robb).

Producer Laura Shaw said: “The whole team here at Emmerdale would like to send our huge congratulations to the England football team on reaching the final of the UEFA European Championship.

“We wish them the very best of luck for Sunday and we are thrilled to be showing our support in Monday night’s episode of Emmerdale.”

Meanwhile, Emmerdale fans have been left furious over the show’s axe on Tuesday.

Raging on social media, one said: “What’s the point of having the euros randomly patched in between scenes. Seems absolutely pointless to me.”

A second wrote: “Thanks for the heads up, but it’s ridiculous.”
