Erik ten Hag, 54, will lead the team into the new season after extending his contract with the club.

The Dutchman has now named his first line-up of pre-season.

Marcus Rashford, Casemiro, Mason Mount, Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Jonny Evans all start.

The club are willing to cash in on Rashford and have dropped his asking price from £80million to £60m.

Fans were also keen to see how the forward would get on.

One posted: “Let’s see if Rashford has figured out how to dribble past a defender now.”

A second wrote: “Rashford has to feel some shame here.”

A third commented: “Redemption season for Rashford starts now.”

Man Utd's pre-season fixtures

Here is a list of all of Manchester United's pre-season fixtures...

  • Mon 15 July v Rosenborg (17:00 BST)
  • Sat 20 July v Rangers (16:00 BST)
  • Sun 28 July v Arsenal (01:00 BST)
  • Thu 1 Aug v Real Betis (03:00 BST)

There are also chances handed to the likes of Will Fish and Hannibal Mejbri.

Man United’s first competitive fixture of the season will come in the Community Shield on August 10.

The club will take on cross-city rivals Manchester City after they won the Premier League title.

There are some notable absentees from the team to face Rosenborg.

The likes of Bruno Fernandes, Kobbie Mainoo, Luke Shaw, Alejandro Garnacho, Lisandro Martinez, Scott McTominay and Diogo Dalot are still away on holiday.

This is because of their participation in Euro 2024 and the Copa America.

Martinez and Garnacho enjoyed success in South America as Argentina won their second Copa America in a row.

This goes the same for new signing Joshua Zirkzee who represented Holland at the Euros.

One player who will not be involved is Will Kambwala, who completed a £10 million move to Villarreal.
