MARCO DIAZ was dominant in the circle, as he rang up 15 strikeouts in HILL UNITED CHIEFS’s 8-4 victory over Circle Tap Dukes on Sunday. MARCO DIAZ allowed three hits and four runs over seven innings while walking two.

HILL UNITED CHIEFS came back to win despite trailing 4-0 in the fifth.

Circle Tap Dukes jumped out to the lead in the top of the fourth inning after an error scored two runs, and a wild pitch scored one run.

HILL UNITED CHIEFS tied the game in the bottom of the fifth thanks to a single by BRADLEY EZEKIEL, and a home run to left field by NICK SHAILES.

HILL UNITED CHIEFS made the score 8-4 in the bottom of the sixth after an error scored two runs, SHANE BOLAND singled, scoring one run, and Devon McCullough induced BRUNO MOTRONI to hit into a fielder’s choice, but one run scored.

Jorge Segura started in the circle for Circle Tap Dukes. Segura gave up seven hits and four runs over four and two-thirds innings, striking out two and walking two.

NICK SHAILES drove the middle of the lineup, leading HILL UNITED CHIEFS with three runs batted in. The third baseman went 1-for-3 on the day. Leadoff hitter SHANE BOLAND led HILL UNITED CHIEFS with three hits in four at bats. BRADLEY EZEKIEL collected two hits for HILL UNITED CHIEFS in four at bats. TONY GONZALEZ paced HILL UNITED CHIEFS with two walks. Overall, the team had patience at the plate, tallying four walks for the game. HILL UNITED CHIEFS turned one double play in the game.

Tyler Johnson, Cody Smith, and Callum Beashel each collected one hit for Circle Tap Dukes. Scott Patterson led Circle Tap Dukes with one run batted in.  Circle Tap Dukes turned one double play in the game.

HILL UNITED CHIEFS welcome Ohsweken Redmen on Friday for their next game.

Circle Tap Dukes Beat AWP Lumberjacks On Powerful Performance From Scott Patterson, Face Hill United in Finals

Scott Patterson hit two home runs and drove in seven as Circle Tap Dukes defeated AWP Lumberjacks 18O 9-2 on Sunday. Scott Patterson homered in the fifth and fourth innings.

Circle Tap Dukes scored five runs in the fifth inning on the way to victory.  Cody Smith singled, scoring one run, and Scott Patterson hit a grand slam to right field.

AWP Lumberjacks 18O were the first to get on the board in the second when Daniel Alstat singled, scoring two runs.

A home run to left field by Scott Patterson gave Circle Tap Dukes the lead, 4-2, in the bottom of the fourth.

Devon McCullough opened the game for Circle Tap Dukes. The starting pitcher surrendered five hits and two runs over five innings, striking out nine and walking four. Nahael Sarez started in the circle for AWP Lumberjacks 18O. The starting pitcher allowed nine hits and nine runs (six earned) over four and two-thirds innings, striking out six and walking four.

Cody Smith and Tyler Damon each collected multiple hits for Circle Tap Dukes. Blair Ezekiel led Circle Tap Dukes with two walks. Overall, the team had a strong eye at the plate, piling up four walks for the game. Circle Tap Dukes didn’t commit a single error in the field. Tyler Damon had the most chances in the field with nine.

Daniel Alstat led AWP Lumberjacks 18O with two runs batted in from the number eight spot in the lineup. They went 1-for-2 on the day. Ivan Sacks, Francisco Sabate, Daniel Alstat, Codi Pannebecker, and Tyler Bouley each collected one hit for AWP Lumberjacks 18O. AWP Lumberjacks 18O had a strong eye at the plate, amassing four walks for the game. Ivan Sacks and Tyler Bouley led the team with two walks each.

Circle Tap Dukes play at home on Sunday against AWP Lumberjacks 18O in their next game.
