Podcaster Abbey Clancy was left open-mouthed as Kerry explained that George “beating sh** out of her” just made her more attached to him.

On Exhibit A, the former Atomic Kitten singer said: “When I met George he was just out for kidnapping and torture and I thought ‘oh, I will have a bit of you’.

“I would say George was probably the love of my life not Brian.

“But I don’t know if that was because he was so controlling.

“You get so manipulated, what is it Stockholm Syndrome? You get so manipulated that they pull you in.

“When I got a good hiding, I would apologise, I would be on my hands and knees saying ‘I’m so sorry’.”

George Kay met Kerry when they were at school together but the pair started dating in 2012 after bumping into each other in Warrington.

They married in September 2014, but split in 2015 and divorced two years later.

Kerry previously told the Metro that she is still “struggling to forgive herself” for bringing the violent man into the lives of her children.

George died of an overdose in 2019 after biting into a ball of cocaine in front of staff at a Holiday Inn.

While on podcast Exhibit A, Kerry shared that her children have been left “f**ked up” by daddy issues and she feels responsible.

She began to tear up while discussing the ways her daughter Dylan-Jorge was abandoned by George as a father.

Kerry also said in an interview with the Mirror that her girls Molly and Lilly-Sue barely have any contact with their dad, Brian McFadden.

She added that they are closer to her current fiancé Ryan Mahoney than the Westlife star, saying: “They’ll ring Ryan before they ring Brian. If they need money, they ring Ryan.

“That’s just how it is, he’s got his own little family now, Ryan pays for Molly’s car insurance. Molly and Ryan have such a great relationship, it’s funny when they’re together.”
