Saratoga Casino Hotel plans summer blood drive

Saratoga Casino Hotel is hosting a blood drive to combat low donations during the summer.

SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. (NEWS10)-- Saratoga Casino Hotel is hosting a blood drive to combat low donations during the summer. The drive will be held on Monday, July 22, from noon to 6 p.m. in the hotel ballroom.

Participants have a chance to win prizes at the drive from a partnership between the Red Cross and Universal Pictures' release of TWISTERS. Anyone who donates blood or platelets in the month of July will receive a Fandango movie ticket and will be automatically entered to win a 2025 Ram 1500 Big Horn.

Appointments can be scheduled on the Red Cross website using the sponsor code SARATOACASINO. The American Red Cross said blood donations, especially type O blood and platelets, are a critical need.

Chief Operating Officer of Saratoga Casino Hotel Alex Tucker said the casino and hotel are moved by the overwhelming support from the community every year. "The need for blood never ends, and we’re glad to continue to partner with the American Red Cross two times a year to help with the ongoing demands," Tucker said.
