Let Smash Be Your Stream
Flash back to a show with a song in its heart as it’s waiting to start out on Peaaaacock! The fire and drive that make streams come alive, they fill its soul, it’s in control. Smash is finally going to streaming. If you see homosexuals celebrating in the streets, it is not a belated Pride celebration; it’s this. The TV musical — which, we should clarify, is not so much good as it is glorious — begins streaming on Peacock starting July 15. That includes both seasons of the show: season one, in which Debra Messing wears insane scarves, and season two, in which Andy Mientus is Rent-ed. If we had to guess why the show is finally being added to streaming now, we’d say it probably has to do with the Broadway adaptation that is being mounted as we speak and gets mentioned in bold in the press release. But however we’re getting it, what matters is that we can watch Christian Borle sing the words “Tomatoes like you must be put in their place!”
