I quit my job without one to go to – now I’m begging strangers to help pay my bills while I’m unemployed

A WOMAN who quit her job without any other work to go to is appealing for help from internet users to pay her bills.

Natasha Mackay, 31, uploaded a video sharing her strategy for raking in the cash with the help of strangers.

Natasha shared how she was relying on people watching her videos to earn money through the TikTok creator fund

On her @natashalouisemackay account she shared: “So, I quit my job yesterday, and I don’t have a job to go to after next Monday.

“And I wanna test out this.

“I wanna see if I can get TikTok to pay me for a month whilst I am jobless.”

She shared how she was hoping people viewing her videos would help her earn money through the TikTok Creator Fund.

To be eligible to earn money through the fund, you need to be at least 18 years old, have a minimum of 10,000 followers, get a minimum of 100,000 views within 30 days of the application, and then your application has to be accepted.

According to TikTok: “The funds that each creator can earn are worked out by a combination of factors; including the number of views and the authenticity of those views, the level of engagement on the content.

“No two creators or videos are the same, and there is no limit to the different kinds of content we will support with the fund.”

Natasha added: “We will see how that goes.

“I keep seeing these things on TikTok where people get TikTok, like the Creator Fund, to pay them.

“Basically, you just have to watch my video for over a minute, and TikTok will pay me before the video that you have just watched.”

Giving more information about her job situation, she shared how she handed in her notice last Monday.

She continued: “I absolutely loved my job, but the workplace towards me just wasn’t great.

“And I’m sad that I’m leaving a job that I generally thought was my dream career, and now I don’t have a job to go to.

“I’ve applied for a couple of jobs. I’m waiting back for one of them.

“One I have an interview for on Thursday, and one I was gonna have a third interview for, but they gave the job to someone else.

“So, the overthinking brain is trying not to overthink.

“And I’m having that little minute mini panic where I’m like, oh, what do I do?

What is the TikTok Creator Fund?

While it is not a grant or ad revenue program, the Creator Fund provides payment to qualified TikTokers based on a “variety of factors” across their content.

“We want all creators to have the opportunity to earn money doing what they love and turn their passion into a livelihood,” the website continues.

With no limit on the number of qualified TikTokers who can join the fund, payments may increase or decrease at different times throughout one’s run on the platform.

Some factors affecting the funds a qualified TikToker may earn include number of authentic views per video, the amount of engagement, and whether or not the work falls within the Community Guidelines.

“Oh no, I don’t have a job. But this is what’s meant to be, will be.”

She added that she was trying to think positively and thanked people for watching her video.

Natasha shared: “You have helped me get paid for the next month so I don’t go crazy because she’s got bills to pay, and I don’t wanna be behind because that’s not fun for anyone.

“So, yeah, if you have watched, thank you. I very much appreciate you.”

Her video has so far been viewed over 4,000 times and she has racked up over 200 likes.

Many people were quick to offer support, with one saying: “I’m in the exactly same position as you.”

Another added: “Sending you magic job dust.”
