A man has admitted to murdering 42 women and dumping their bodies in a slum district in the Kenyan capital Nairobi over a period of two years.

Police arrested Collins Jumaisi Khalusha, 33, while he watched the Euros finals in a bar – and as he was reportedly speaking to another woman he ‘intended to be his next victim’.

The potential victim he had been speaking to has been identified only by the name Susan. She’s being quizzed about how he approached her and what they had discussed.

After his arrest, Khalusha confessed to the murders, which he committed after luring the women to their deaths. In some cases, he would have sex with them before he killed them.

Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) Chief Mohamed Amin said after the confession: ‘We are dealing with a serial killer, a psychopathic serial killer who has no respect for human life. The man we arrested is a vampire, a psychopath.’

The killings reportedly started in 2022 when he murdered his wife, whose body he dismembered before throwing her in a dump.

He reportedly used the same dump site for all of his victims, before he was eventually caught thanks to mobile phone data linking him with one of his murder victims, identified as Josephine Owino.

Khalusha was living in a one-room property just 100 yards from where he dumped the bodies.

Police say that they have also recovered a machete, sacks, rope, rubber gloves and private items from some of his victims including a pink female handbag and female underwear.

So far police have recovered nine bodies of which eight have been confirmed female and autopsies are being carried out.

As the investigation widened, police said they had also arrested the second person who was caught with one of the mobile phones of the victims.

Kenya’s police watchdog, the Independent Police Oversight Authority (IPOA), has come under fire after it was revealed the location where the bodies were being dumped was just a hundred metres from the police station.

They are looking to see if officers have failed in their duty to prevent the murders.
