Tencent Cloud and PlaysOut Partner on Embedded Services for Super Apps
Tencent Cloud and PlaysOut have unveiled a collaboration on embedded services for super apps.
PlaysOut, a global gaming technology company, will leverage the Tencent Cloud Mini Program Platform (TCMPP) to lead the development of content ecosystems for global super apps, the companies said in a Monday (July 15) press release.
The new open platform enabled by this collaboration aims to catalyze growth in entertainment, gaming and other sectors of the global digital industry, according to the release.
“Today, more super apps are demanding the creation of mini-program ecosystems, presenting an excellent market opportunity,” Alex Wang, founder of PlaysOut, said in the release. “As our joint venture deepens, PlaysOut will also strive to bring thousands of mini-game products to the global market, reaching a broader user base.”
With the platform, businesses can build mini-programs and mini-games without the need for complex development or operational efforts, per the release.
PlaysOut will leverage the new collaboration to accelerate its platform development process during the second half, according to the release.
The support will cover gaming, socializing, entertainment, payment and other fields, per the release.
“As the demand for mini-program platform solutions grows in the global market, Tencent Cloud will work closely with PlaysOut to help global clients quickly establish their mini-program ecosystems,” Poshu Yeung, senior vice president at Tencent Cloud International, said in the release.
PYMNTS Intelligence has found that consumers in both the United States and Australia show a clear desire to consolidate their routine shopping and banking experiences into a super app.
About 70% of consumers in each country would like to streamline their app-based retail and grocery shopping and their bill tracking, and around 60% want to manage their banking with an everyday mobile app, according to “Consumer Interest in an Everyday App,” a PYMNTS Intelligence and PayPal collaboration.
On July 5, it was reported that the performance of The Open Network (TON) blockchain, which has seen the assets locked on that blockchain skyrocket by 1,400% this year, has reignited hopes that the popular messaging app Telegram could become a super app that encompasses social interactions, gaming and financial tools.
TON is associated with Telegram Messenger LLP.
