Elly and Rece would’ve hit dozens more dingers than these Home Run Derbyers
Let’s watch it anyway!
Elly De La Cruz homered in each of his final two games of the first ‘half’ of the 2024 season, while Rece Hinds homered 5 times as part of a first big league week so epic that it earned him the honor of National League Player of the Week.
Of course he did.
Heck of a first week on the job!

While the bulk of the Cincinnati Reds are off for the All Star break, Elly and Hunter Greene are in Arlington, Texas as team reps for tomorrow’s game in Globe Life Field. Tonight, though, is when eight tiny reindeer slugging contestants will attempt to take home the title of Home Run Derby champion.
Adolis Garcia, Alec Bohm, Pete Alonso, Jose Ramirez, Teoscar Hernandez, Bobby Witt, Jr., Marcell Ozuna, and Gunnar Henderson are this year’s participants. I frankly do not have a horse in this race, so I’ll just root for excellent performances all around except for Ozuna, who I hope strikes out.
Coverage of the event begins at 8 PM ET. Turn on, tune in, and hit one back back back back back back back back back back back back back back...gone.
