Fiesta Topeka scheduled to begin tomorrow

TOPEKA (KSNT) - The 91st Fiesta Topeka begins at 4 p.m. on Tuesday, July 16 at the Our Lady of Guadalupe Church.

They had to battle the heat on Monday, July 15 when they were finishing setting up for the event. The heat caused event organizers to change their plans to set up Fiesta Topeka.

KSNT 27 News spoke with someone from Fiesta Topeka about how the heat impacted their preparation.

"We're trying to get everybody here, the grounds crew, vendors and everything that needs to be done outside, have them come in early in the morning and then have them leave before the heat hits." said Cindy Negrete the Vendor Coordinator for the event.

Food sales kick off at 4 p.m. on July 16 with vendors opening at 5 p.m. and rides starting at 6 p.m. There will also be two different stages with a variety of performances.

The event will last from July 16 through July 20. Here is a list of the times the event will take place on each day.

• July 16 - 4 p.m. - 11 p.m.
• July 17 - 4 p.m. - 11 p.m.
• July 18- 4 p.m. - 11 p.m.
• July 19 - 4 p.m. - 12 a.m.
• July 20 - 4 p.m. - 12 a.m.
