An Essex Police spokesperson told The Sun this morning the victim was stabbed in the stomach with her condition not believed to be life threatening.

They added that no arrests have been made as of yet.

Investigators have described the suspect as wearing a black balaclava, gloves and dark clothing including navy jogging bottoms.

The incident was reported to have happened at around 6.40am and the suspect left the area on foot.

The victim is said to have sounded their car horn repeatedly at the time of the attack.

She is understood to have been just getting out of her car at the time.

She was taken to hospital for further treatment.

Unison Eastern regional organiser Sam Older said: “This incident will send shockwaves across the hospital and everyone will be hoping the victim of this attack makes a full recovery.”
