Videos showing civilians fleeing near the shrine, previously targeted by ISIS, have been circulating.
According to the ILNA news agency, people have taken shelter on rooftops out of fear.
However, some official sources have denied any explosion. ISNA quoted Ismail Qazlasefeli, deputy for political and security affairs of Fars province, stating, “No explosion occurred, and we are currently heading to the site with more details to follow.”
Additionally, Tasnim News Agency, affiliated with the Revolutionary Guards, stated, “Contrary to claims on certain social media channels, there has been no explosion at Shah Cheragh Shrine, and such reports are false.”
Meanwhile, conflicting reports and denials surrounding the alleged explosion at Shah Cheragh Shrine highlight ongoing tensions and the immediate dissemination of information in such sensitive situations. The incident resonates with a history of violence at the shrine, underscoring concerns over security and public safety in the region.
