Over 9,000 without power in NE Kansas
Update 7:55 a.m.: There are a total of 219 power outages affecting over 9,000 customers in northeast Kansas. The number of Evergy customers impacted in Topeka is now 3,304. Free State Electric is reporting over 500 customers without power.
Evergy is reporting an estimated time of restoration for customers north of Topeka at 9 a.m.
Update 7:50 a.m.: There are a total of 195 power outages affecting 7,429 customers in northeast Kansas. The number of Evergy customers impacted in Topeka has dropped to 3,170.
TOPEKA (KSNT) - After a bout of morning thunderstorms, thousands of customers in northeast Kansas are without power.
As of 7:30 a.m., 5,559 Evergy customers are without power after over 70 power outages. Of those who are without power, over 4,000 customers are located in or around Topeka. No immediate restoration times were provided.
Free State Electric is also reporting over 100 customers without power.
