7/16/2024: Another hot & humid day, another storm chance

The latest Storm Tracker Forecast from meteorologist Matt Mackie:

We're doing it all over again today - more heat, humidity, and storm chances ahead of a big weather system over the eastern Great Lakes.

Along the Hudson and Mohawk river valleys, temperatures push into the low 90's for highs. High humidity will make it feel more like 95-100 in terms of the heat index. A Heat Advisory is again in effect for the highlighted areas below.

Showers and storms will likely move in earlier today, perhaps in the mid to late afternoon in the Capital District. The whole News10 area is at risk for heavy rain and potentially gusty winds with the strongest of storms. Stay weather aware out there!

Tonight, only a few lingering showers. Otherwise, warm and muggy with most struggling to drop below the 70 degree mark.

We likely won't hit 90 tomorrow, but upper 80's and more high humidity mean it's still a warm and uncomfortable feel.

More showers and storms are expected from midday into the afternoon. This time, the greatest risk for severe weather is from Albany to the south and east.

We clear out in spectacular fashion for the end of the week. Low to mid 80's on Thursday and Friday with noticeably lower humidity.

A bit warmer on Saturday, and maybe ever so slightly muggy on Sunday - still, dew points around 60 will be far less miserable than the 70-degree dewpoints we're currently dealing with. Nice weather for Monday, as well, with highs in the low 80's.
