The Heat guard put on a fourth quarter performance for the ages at NBA Summer League.

The Summer League isn’t just for rookies who need to get their feet wet before the drag of an NBA regular season. It’s also for young guys who maybe have gone from roster to roster, played some stints in the G-League, and now have a chance to make their mark for the scouts watching.

Miami Heat guard Josh Christopher falls in that second category. After two seasons in Houston and one in the G-League for the Salt Lake City Stars (Utah Jazz affiliate) and Sioux Falls Skyforce (Miami Heat affiliate), Christopher is making his name known in the Summer League, and has the chance to potentially be one of the two-way roster spots Miami has. The reason he can do that is because of games like he had on Monday against the Thunder. Christopher went off in the fourth quarter, scoring 20 of his 23 points in that period to help lead the Heat to victory.

The highlights were just as impressive as the overall numbers. Three pointers off the dribble, contested jumpers, and two Kodak moments, two posters over Thunder players that stamped his performance on Monday.

Zyon Pullin Dru Smith currently have two-way deals with the Heat, and Christopher is making hte case for at least that. This is one of the most impressive Summer League scoring takeovers you will ever see.

Christopher’s growth as a player from when he got drafted by Houston to now has been fun, and it might get him a roster spot in Miami.
