DOJ: Man pleads guilty to traveling to Albany to meet minor
ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- An Arkansas man pleaded guilty on Tuesday to traveling from Arkansas to Albany with the intent to engage in sexual contact with a child. Kyle Biswell, 38, also pleaded guilty to transporting child sex abuse images and videos in interstate commerce, according to the Department of Justice (DOJ).
Biswell admitted with this guilty plea that between January and April 2023 he was communicating with someone he thought was the mother of an 11-year-old through social media. He also admitted to expressing a sexual interest in this child and later purchased airfare to travel from Arkansas to Albany with the intent to engage in illicit sexual contact with the 11-year-old on April 8, 2023.
Biswell further admitted to bringing child sex abuse images and videos with him on his phone. The phone was searched by the FBI and found to have numerous pictures and videos depicting child sex abuse, according to the DOJ.
Sentencing is scheduled for November 13 and Biswell faces anywhere from five years to 30 years in prison. He also faces a probation term from five years to life, may have to pay a fine of up to $250,000, and may have to forfeit his phone.
