Rensselaer County hosting ice cream social contest

July is National Ice Cream Month. While Montgomery County is celebrating Ice Cream Week from July 15 to 21, Rensselaer County Tourism and Rensselaer County Dairy Promotion are hosting a social media ice cream contest.

TROY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- July is National Ice Cream Month. While Montgomery County is celebrating Ice Cream Week from July 15 to 21, Rensselaer County Tourism and Rensselaer County Dairy Promotion are hosting a social media ice cream contest.

To participate, you can:

• Like and follow Rensselaer County Tourism on Facebook
• Visit a Rensselaer County ice cream shop
• Snap a photo of your ice cream, the name of your favorite flavor and which ice cream shop you're at and post to Facebook, tagging Rensselaer County Tourism and Rensselaer County Dairy Promotion in the post

Once you enter the contest, you'll be entered in a drawing that will take place at The Schaghticoke Fair at the New York State Products Building in the ice cream booth. The drawing will be held on August 29.
