Police seize nearly 25 pounds of narcotics during drug bust in the Bronx: NYPD

THE BRONX, N.Y. (PIX11) -- Two individuals were arrested Friday after police seized nearly 25 pounds of narcotics and a gun from an apartment in the Bronx, according to the NYPD.

Carlos Torres and Martin Figueroa were arraigned on multiple drug and weapon charges.

The arrests stemmed from an undercover investigation, during which Torres allegedly sold over cocaine to an undercover officer, police said.

The officer met Torres at 1460 St. Lawrence Avenue. Figuero was seen on the roof of an adjacent garage, where he threw a black bag to Torres, which contained two kilograms of cocaine, according to the NYPD.

Officers arrested the two and obtained a search warrant for the basement apartment at 1460 St. Lawrence Avenue. During the search, police seized nearly 25 pounds narcotics, including suspected heroin/fentanyl, oxycodone pills, and methamphetamine, and a 9mm pistol with an extended magazine.

Some of the drugs were packaged in glassines with "Playboy" and "Tesla" stamps, police said. The drugs were sent to a United States Drugs Enforcement Administration laboratory for analysis.
