Dam fails in Illinois as US states hit by heavy rain and tornadoes

Thunderstorms with heavy rain and tornadoes have hit the Chicago area and elsewhere in the US Midwest, overtopping a dam in southern Illinois and cutting power to hundreds of thousands.
