Ever since the San Francisco 49ers lost Super Bowl 58, Brandon Aiyuk hasn’t been shy about mapping out his potential exit from the Bay Area while he searches for a new monster contract. He stayed politely neutral when asked about his 49ers future. He tweeted directly at a future Hall of Fame head coach as trade rumors heated up. He seemingly subtweeted the 49ers after they denied any trade rumors concerning him. He even let a top rookie quarterback/close friend know that his 49ers negotiations apparently weren’t going all that well.

Now, in the least surprising development, according to NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo, Aiyuk has officially requested a trade as training camp with the 49ers looms later this month.
Aiyuk is one of the NFL’s best playmakers in the prime of his career. If he’ll actually get traded, then there should be no shortage of worthy suitors for his services. He is indeed that good.
