Greek sources believe Holguin’s mandate ‘to be renewed’

The Cyprus problem remains “a top priority of Greek foreign policy” and Athens maintains regular communication with Nicosia and the UN, Greek diplomatic sources have said.

The Cyprus News Agency (CNA) reported that the same sources believe the mandate of UN envoy Maria Angela Holguin will be renewed for the coming period.

Greece, they added, remains “unwaveringly steadfast” in its positions regarding a Cyprus settlement, in the framework of UN Security Council resolutions.

They also see “a window of opportunity for restarting the dialogue.”
