'Absolute train wreck' coming if Trump's billionaire buddies get their way: Ex-insider
Anthony Scaramucci, the former Trump White House communications director who turned on the former president in 2019 after he lobbed a racist tirade against four Democratic congresswomen of color, has a warning about what's to come in his second term.
Writing on Twitter, Scaramucci explained that he was once one of the big-money men who believed that Trump's deregulatory policies would be good for American economic growth, only to become disillusioned when he understood just how much damage Trump's disdain for international institutions could cause.
"The billionaire boys are all in for Trump," he began. "I get it. I was there in 2016 and did the cursory analysis that lower taxes, and pro business regulation was going to be good for business and America. But that analysis was superficial."

He then went on to explain the misgivings he has about the agenda of Trump's billionaire backers.
"The real problem is what they want to do to the dollar, the constitution, the judiciary and the rules based international system is an absolute train wreck, a perversion of what was once conservatism," he argued. "It is a brand of anarcho-Christian populism, which borders on fascism; it is a very dangerous time for the United States. The deficit spending is out of control and if they devalue the dollar they’re going to disrupt the entire global capitalist system. The United States could lead the world out of this problem, but it would need to do it in a way that is almost the opposite of what they are doing."
Scaramucci closed by emphasizing that "I have been where the billionaire boys are now and I want to offer some caution and a perspective borne from up close experience, the tonic they are prescribing will be bad for America and the world."
