Florida man arrested after threats to 'slit Joe Biden's throat'

A Florida man was recently arrested on accusations that he made violent threats to President Joe Biden.

Seamus Hughes, a senior researcher at the National Counterterrorism Innovation, Technology and Education Center, monitors some of the political violence and dangers that end up in courts. His research has uncovered scores of potential assassination threats that were caught by federal police and charged by the Justice Department.

The most recent of which was the Secret Service arrest of Jason Alday, of Florida.

A cache of Alday's social media account on X showed that he went by "Jason Alderman" and his biography claimed he was a "Follower of Christ." The account has since been suspended.

"I'll kill joe biden today!!" Alday posted on July 11, 2024, according to the indictment posted by Hughes.

On June 30, 2024, he posted the comment, "sources: joe biden's health is declining rapidly. Not doing too good at all. Should I finish him off?"

On the afternoon of July 1, 2024, he posted "The secret service sent a special agent ni---r to my house with gadsden county officers. I'll still slit joe biden's throat."

Gadsden County is in the Florida panhandle on the border with Alabama.

No other social media information could be confirmed about Alday or under his alias "Gadsden."
