Man pulled into ocean in New York City found treading water in New Jersey
NEW YORK (PIX11) -- A man ended up in the waters outside of Sandy Hook, N.J., after being pulled into the ocean in New York City on Monday, according to officials.
Pete Ordane, 34, of New York City, told police he entered the water, most likely in the area of Breezy Point in Queens. Officials said he was pulled out by the tide and treading water for several hours until a commercial fisherman and his son spotted him in New Jersey waters around 9 a.m.
The fisherman and his son got Ordane aboard their boat and brought him to Port Monmouth. Officials said Ordane was healthy and did not want additional medical attention.
Dry clothes and transportation were provided to Ordane, officials said.
