Woman’s ‘mind is blown’ over viral but controversial ketchup bottle trick – but people insist ‘not everything is a hack’

In a video that’s racked up 6.4 million views, she showed off the unconventional way she opened the bottle, but not everyone is convinced it’s such an impressive hack.

In a viral TikTok video, she revealed an interesting new way to open her ketchup bottle.
She admitted that her mind was blown over it.
The stay-at-home mom joked that she “was today years old” when she discovered the unique trick.
She demonstrated how she used the top of the ketchup bottle to pop a hole in the seal.
The top has a smaller puncture that is meant to securely fit in a hole in the cover.
First, she unscrewed it and detached it from the unopened seal.
She then turned it upside down and pressed it firmly into the vacuum-packed seal.
Kalyn also turned it side to side a few times to make sure that it was evenly poked through.
In the last step, she put the white cap back on it and screwed it firmly in place.
There was an awestruck expression on her face.
She tilted the top toward the camera so viewers could see a perfectly sized hole for the ketchup to seep through.
There were conflicting opinions about the food hack and not everyone was sold on it.
“Don’t do that, could leave mold on that seal after a while,” a viewer wrote.
“Not everything is a hack,” one person commented.
“That is NOT what this is for,” another said.
Others didn’t understand why she didn’t just peel off the top cover.
“Just peel it off you grub,” a TikToker added.
“It’s almost like there aren’t flaps made for you to peel it off,” someone else chimed in.
