Jaylen Brown wants everyone to know he definitely wasn’t talking wild about Bronny James

After cameras caught Jaylen Brown talking about Bronny James at a Las Vegas Summer League game, Brown went on the defensive to tell everyone they didn’t see what they saw.

Calling Bronny James a divisive figure is underselling it by quite a bit. Whether good or bad, virtually everyone has a strong take on Bronny as a prospect, whether he’s an NBA player and why he’s really on the Lakers.

Including Jaylen Brown.

On Monday, Brown turned up to the Celtics-Lakers Summer League game in Las Vegas and sat courtside with Chicago Sky forward Angel Reese and Kysre Gondrezick, who played with the Sky this season as well.

Seems innocent enough. Except, if you try to read Brown’s lips, he’s definitely saying something about Bronny. And while I am no lip reader, many online interpreted it as something along the lines of “I don’t think Bronny is a pro.”

The evidence is pretty damning on that one because it sure does look an awful lot like that’s what he said.

Now, what Brown should have done is ignore it because acknowledging it only adds fuel to the fire and makes people think that you definitely said that and...oh no he jumped on Twitter instead.

Good attempt at a save, but all you’ve really done now is make sure a lot more people are aware of you talking about Bronny. So mission failed successfully?

Look, the criticisms are fair to a degree. Bronny is a long, long way from contributing. He also looked really rough on Monday with his only field goal on five attempts coming late in the fourth quarter.

But Brown really just seems to want to stir the pot this offseason, which is certainly an interesting route to take after winning a title!
