Ingrid Andress Explains Her National Anthem Debacle

She's getting help for herself.

This year's MLB Home Run Derby made headlines not so much for the players, but for the singer who opened the festivities with the national anthem. Ingrid Andress' rendition of "The Star-Spangled Banner" has drawn criticism online, and the singer-songwriter just took to social media to explain what happened.

In an honest post shared on her Instagram and X accounts, the "More Hearts Than Mine" singer confessed that she was inebriated during her performance. "I’m not gonna bulls--t y’all, I was drunk last night," she stated plainly.

It seemingly wasn't just one casual drink before the show. Andress admitted she has a problem and is going to work on herself to ensure something like this never happens again.

"I’m checking myself into a facility today to get the help I need. That was not me last night," she wrote. "I apologize to MLB, all the fans, and this country I love so much for that rendition."

"I’ll let y’all know how rehab is," she concluded her honest letter. "I hear it’s super fun."

Andress is no stranger to the music scene. Last year, she was the opening act for Stevie Nicks and headlined her own tour across the country in support of her sophomore album Good Person
