7/16/24: Heat & Humidity With Midday Storms Wednesday

Latest Forecast Update from Meteorologists Steve Caporizzo & Rob Lindenmuth:

Severe weather moved through the Capital Region Tuesday afternoon and evening with tornado warnings and destructive thunderstorm warning with gusts up to 80 mph recorded. That is out of here and now the cleanup continues across the region. Another hot and humid day is expected across the area on Wednesday ahead of a cold front that will bring us another round of thunderstorms, some of which could be strong by Wednesday afternoon and eveinng.

Storm Prediction Center is watching our area for the potential for severe storms to once again fire up Wednesday afternoon. A marginal to slight risk has been issued and winds would once again be our main concerns.

Wednesday will start off dry, but warm and humid with temperatures in the upper 60s and low 70s. By the afternoon we will expect showers and thunderstorms to develop ahead of a cold front. Again, some of these storms could pack a bit of a punch with damaging winds being our main concern.

These storms will shift south and east into the evening hours and the humidity levels will slowly fall behind the front. Temperatures will still be warm with many making it into the mid and upper 80s ahead of the front and any showers or storms that develop.

Skies will turn partly sunny, it will be much less humid and become a bit breezy by Thursday afternoon. Temperatures will warm into the upper 70s and low 80s for the afternoon, much more comfortable than what we have seen lately.

Comfortable and seasonable weather carries into the end of the week and the weekend with the slightest chance for a shower on Sunday. More clouds and showers will be possible for us on Tuesday with highs in the low to mid 80s. Have a great night! -Cap & Rob
