Glens Falls declares State of Emergency

GLENS FALLS, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- The city of Glens Falls issued a State of Emergency on Tuesday after strong storms blew through the Capital Region. Wind gusts of up to 85 MPH hit the city, according to officials.

City DPW, fire and police are working to clean up after the storm. The following roads are temporarily closed because of downed power lines, flooding and downed trees:

  • McDonald at Warren
  • Mauro at Jackson
  • Hartford
  • Sanford from Ridge to Windy Hill
  • Monument and Parker
  • Staple Street
  • Murray Street Hill
  • Ogden
  • Catherine
  • Lincoln
  • Charlotte / Grove
  • Lower Lawrence  between McDonald and Platt

Everyone is asked to avoid these areas. If you see anything dangerous, you're asked to call 911.
