Vid shows how terrifyingly close Trump came to suffering fatal head shot – as pic of sniper’s ‘DETONATOR’ emerges

INCREDIBLE footage shows just how close former President Donald Trump came to death last weekend as a bullet grazed past his head.

As a sniper poised nearby unleashed a spray of bullets towards Trump, he turned his head, narrowly missing a fatal blow to the skull.

The former President dubbed it a “miracle” that he survived the botched assassination attempt.

His ear was ripped through in the process, as one of shooter Thomas Crooks‘ bullets punctured the side of his head.

The Spectator Index video, shared widely online, comes as pictures of a remote detonator have been revealed from the scene of the shooting.

Working from live footage at Trump’s political rally, the clip shows him speaking to supporters and turning his head to the right.

A computer mock-up of the move then captures the bullet careening past the right side of his face and grazing his ear at the moment he turns.

Crooks, 20, tried to kill Trump with an AR-15 at the rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, on July 13.

Counter-snipers shot him dead, with pictures later showing them standing over his body from his roof-perch nearby.

It is now believed Crooks was found with a remote detonator on his body – after cops discovered explosive devices in his car near the rally site.

Police had received many reports of suspicious packages around the vehicle, according to the Wall Street Journal.

Investigators then also found bomb-making materials at his home.

An unnamed official has since told CNN that an “improvised explosive device” was uncovered in the trunk of the Hyundai Sonata – connected with wires to a receiver.

“That suggests the gunman may have been planning to set off an explosion remotely, and investigators are considering the theory that he may have been planning a distraction during the shooting,” they told the outlet.

A bombshell new picture reportedly shows the detonator that could have set off such explosives.

Channel 11 first shared the image of Crooks’ phone and detonator device on the white roof where he had been perched.

It comes as the Secret Service faces its biggest scandal in Presidential protection for decades.

A US military vet has slammed “unqualified” agents for their reported failures to keep the former President safe on Saturday.

Darrell Smith, who spent 22 years with the Air Force, said: “I mean I’m a retired Air Force guy, I would have had drones in the area, surveilling the air, and you would have easily seen somebody on the rooftop, not just at ground level, and they obviously weren’t doing that.

“You got about three minutes of a guy that said ‘I saw a guy with a rifle climb on the roof,’ and no one told him about it.

“I’ve been in several military operations and three minutes means life and death, and we’re just very lucky that Trump didn’t lose his life.”

It comes as only weeks before the Pennsylvania rally, a source warned authorities about a plan from Iran to take out Trump.

The tip led to increased security for Trump, CNN reported.
