But sadly it seems his busy schedule means he is unable to commit to another series of In For A Penny.

The ITV show is a spin-off from Ant and Dec‘s Saturday Night Takeaway, and first aired in 2019 as a standalone show.

But TV Zone has revealed ITV bosses have shelved the show after six series, but with the door left open for a potential return in the future.

An ITV insider told the outlet: “Whilst Stephen is busy filming other projects over the summer, In For A Penny continues to be a much loved format for ITV.

“So don’t put your pennies away just yet as the team could be popping up in your local town, to challenge even more members of the public to take part in their unique and madcap games in the future!”

In For A Penny saw Stephen head to different towns around the UK and challenge members of the public to an array of silly games.

These included Pump It Up – which took place at petrol stations – Check It Out – hosted in a supermarket at the tills – and Left Hanging.

The final game saw people who happened to have a 1p on them take part in a series of challenges to try and win £1,000.

The sixth series came to an end just last month, with Stephen heading to Walt Disney World in Florida for an epic finale.

The Sun Online has contacted ITV for comment.

Stephen started hosting the rebooted version of Deal or No Deal last year, with the first series proving to be a huge success.

He also took over as co-host of Dancing on Ice this year alongside Holly Willoughby after Phillip Schofield‘s departure from the ITV show.

And earlier this year, he took part in the final series of Ant and Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway, a show he had been a key member of since 2016.
