Meteor over Statue of Liberty: Natural phenomenon or military activity?

A meteor passed over the Statue of Liberty and broke up above Midtown Manhattan, witnessed by many in New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut. The 'daylight fireball' disintegrated 29 miles above midtown Manhattan at a speed of 34,000 miles per hour. No meteorites or damages were reported, with shaking attributed to military activities according to NASA.
