This Morning’s resident beauty connoisseur, Sarah Jossel, shared the tip on her most recent segment of the daytime show.

The beauty director-at-large swears by a trusty piece of tin foil to banish frizz.

She simply wraps a piece of it round her hair and drags it down her locks to instantly take out any traces of “fuzz”.

“If you just take the foil, wrap it around your hair and go down, it completely takes out the frizz,” Sarah said.

“Basically, the metal charges take the static out of your hair.

“So it’s short-term and it’s quick, but it totally removes any fuzzy frizz.”

Frizzy hair can sometimes be a result of static electricity, which causes individual hair strands to repel each other and stand out.

Tin foil can stop frizz by reducing static electricity and smoothing the hair cuticle.

The hair cuticle is the outermost layer of hair that protects the hair shaft (the inner part of the hair), according to the experts at L’Oréal Paris.

Being a metal, tin foil can dissipate this static charge, thus reducing frizz.

However, it’s worth noting that frizzy hair can be influenced by a variety of factors beyond just static electricity.

People with curly or wavy hair are more prone to frizz because the natural shape and texture of the hair create more opportunities for the hair cuticle to lift and let moisture in, leading to frizz.

Humidity is a major contributor to frizzy hair.

In humid conditions, hair absorbs moisture from the air, which causes the shaft to swell and cuticle to lift, leading to frizz.

For blondies among us, it turns out you’ve been applying purple shampoo all wrong and the right way will stop it from going patchy.

Furthermore, damaged hair is more prone to frizz.

That includes damage from bleach, chemical treatments like perms and excessive heat styling, which can harm the hair cuticle.

This simple beauty hack is a quick fix and not a long-term solution for frizzy hair, but it’s a winner for when you need a quick touch up.

Serums, oils and leave-in conditioners can help smooth the hair cuticle and reduce frizz on a more permanent basis.
