Number of births in Estonia may drop to around 10,000 this year

According to preliminary data, 4,922 babies were born in Estonia in the first half of 2024 – 7 percent fewer than during the same period last year. According to Statistics Estonia forecasts, a monthly decline in births may continue through the end of the year.
