Road closures throughout the Capital Region

Crews are working in Montgomery, Washington, and Warren Counties to repair the outages and the damage that has caused multiple road closures in the region.

ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- Due to storms making their way through the Capital Region, damage and power outages are widespread. Crews are working in Montgomery, Washington, and Warren Counties to repair the outages and the damage that has caused multiple road closures in the region.

Montgomery County closures

  • Latimer Hill Road from State Highway 10 to Shunk Road in Ames
  • Mohawk Drive from Main Street to Stoner Trail Road in Tribes Hill
  • Main Street from Mohawk Drive to the bridge in Tribes Hill
  • Lafayette Street from West Grand Street to Groff Road in Palatine Bridge
  • Dumler Lane in Fort Hunter
  • State Highway 5 from Reservoir Road in the town of Mohawk to Mckinley Road in the town of Palatine
  • Van Epps Road from Mile Level Road to Argersinger Road in the town of Glen

The Montgomery County Sheriff's Office says that there may be more closures, but these are the ones it is aware of. The Sheriff's Office reminds people to give themselves extra travel time, use caution, and don't drive over any barriers, under downed trees, or over powerlines.

Washington County closures

  • Fort Miller Road in Fort Edward
  • North River Road in Fort Edward
  • Street Road at County Route 48 in Argyle
  • County Farm Road in Argyle
  • Hemlocks Lane in Argyle
  • Chamberlin Mills Road between Scotts Lake Road and County Route 30 in Hebron

As of 6:30 a.m., Washington County still had just under 5,000 power outages. National Grid crews are working to remedy the situation.

Warren County closures

  • Schroon River Road from Pucker Street to County Route 11 in Warrensburg
  • Federal Hill Road in Bolton
  • Valley Woods Road in Bolton
  • Horicon Avenue north of the golf course in Bolton
  • East River Drive in Lake Luzerne
  • County Route 11 in Bolton should be avoided but is passable in one lane
  • Barton Mines Road between Hayes Road and School House Road
  • Buckbee Road between Butler Pond Road and 12 Buckbee Road
  • Peaceful Valley Road between Main Street and State Route 28
  • Main Street from Marion Avenue and State Route 28W in North Creek
  • Luzerne Road

As of 5 a.m., most of the towns of Chester, Johnsburg, and Horicon are experiencing outages with large portions of Queensbury, Glens Falls, and Warrensburg out offline as well. These could be multi-day outages and the Warren County Office of Emergency Services says it is working with National Grid to determine whether a distribution of dry ice and water will be held in the county.
