Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli Praised by Ex-India captain- “They Are Irreplaceable”

Kapil Dev praised the Indian duo of Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma as he called them "irreplaceable" in the Indian team and celled them "same as Sachin Tendulkar and MS Dhoni".

Former Indian captain Kapil Dev has said veteran duo of Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma are “irreplaceable” in the Indian team across all formats and called them “same as Sachin Tendulkar and MS Dhoni”. Virat had announced his retirement from T20Is after a match-winning play of 76 runs in India’s win in T20 World Cup final against South Africa followed by Rohit Sharma who also called his quit from his T20I career.

On the sidelines of Trinity Golf Championship League second edition curtain riser event, Kapil dev gave his remarks about both Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma.

“No one can take Virat and Rohit’s place in the Indian team in any format. They have ben a huge servant of the Indian cricket and it was a happy farewell for them. The statue that Virat has made of himself in all formats, he will surely be missed in T20Is. Both are as same as Sachin Tendulkar and MS Dhoni. They are irreplaceable”, said Kapil.

Kohli’s unwavering dedication and passion for the game made him the second-highest run-scorer in the T20Is. Rohit, who’s retirement puts an end to his impressive T20I career, was the format’s highest scorer.

Rohit also holds the record for the most centuries made in T20 Internationals, with 5 centuries. His T20I journey began with the T20 World Cup in 2007, where he was a key player in India’s first title victory. After that he has led Indian team to their second title, this time as their captain, which has made his legacy even stronger.
