A SAVVY deals expert has revealed the seven best bargains customers should keep an eye on if they are headed to Lidl this week.

Lidl has a range of homeware products on offer from this Thursday

Every Thursday and Sunday Lidl releases a number of speciality items, which are available for a limited time in stores.

Typically, you have to act quick if you want to buy them because once they’re gone they’re gone.

Amongst the top products, Tom has highlighted a Livarno Home Clothes Rail, retailing for £11.99.

The useful product comes with height adjustable railings which can stretch from 98 to 160cm.

It can also hold up to 15kg worth of clothing.

Keeping with the homeware theme, Tom also flagged a Livarno Home Laundry Hamper for £6.99.

The product comes in both a neutral brown or black colour.

As many look to spruce up their home over the summer, Tom said Lidl will also stock a Livarno Home Collapsible Crate for £4.99.

The storage box comes with practical grip openings.

The deal expert said the store will also run a deal where shoppers can pick up two of the boxes for £8, offering savings of just under a quid.

Other special buys include a Livarno Home Underbed/Duvet Storage/Garment Cover Bag for £2.99 and a Silvercrest Three-Socket Extension Lead for £3.99.

You can also pick up a 10 pack of coat hangers for £4.99 and clothes pegs for £1.99.

To optimise your savings, Tom also told shoppers to download the Lidl Plus app which is available to download on the Apple App Store and Google Play.

He said: “Get the Lidl Plus app which is a great tool for discounts, coupons, and rewards on your groceries.

“You get coupons that are personalised to your shopping. Sometimes on regular items that you buy every day. And, it’s digital leaflets give you a sneak peek of what’s coming up.”

Lidl often leaves shoppers gobsmacked thanks to its ability to stock affordable groceries alongside quirky household goods.

Shoppers recently went into a frenzy after discovering that they can get £5kg of fresh fruit and vegetables for just £1.50.

The German retailer started trialling the bargain boxes in 2019 before rolling out the scheme across its UK stores.

One shopper was delighted by her discovery and posted a photo to the Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK Facebook group.

It showed a box from Lidl for just £1.50 containing peppers, plums, peaches, pears, bananas, oranges and kiwis.

One user wrote: “I got a great one the other day – melon, mango, nine avocados, ready to eat plums, organic tomatoes, conference pears, half a dozen apples…

“I take some into work to pad out the snack offering for playgroups so even the stuff I’m not keen on doesn’t go to waste.”

Most of them work by comparing the prices across hundreds of retailers.

For example, Google Shopping is a tool that lets users search for and compare prices for products across the web. Simply type in keywords, or a product number, to bring up search results.

Price Spy also logs the history of how much something costs from over 3,000 different retailers, including Argos, AmazoneBay and the supermarkets.

Once you select an individual product you can quickly compare which stores have the best price and which have it in stock.

How to bag a bargain

SUN Savers Editor Lana Clements explains how to find a cut-price item and bag a bargain…

Sign up to loyalty schemes of the brands that you regularly shop with.

Big names regularly offer discounts or special lower prices for members, among other perks.

Sales are when you can pick up a real steal.

Retailers usually have periodic promotions that tie into payday at the end of the month or Bank Holiday weekends, so keep a lookout and shop when these deals are on.

Sign up to mailing lists and you’ll also be first to know of special offers. It can be worth following retailers on social media too.

When buying online, always do a search for money off codes or vouchers that you can use vouchercodes.co.uk and myvouchercodes.co.uk are just two sites that round up promotions by retailer.

Scanner apps are useful to have on your phone. Trolley.co.uk app has a scanner that you can use to compare prices on branded items when out shopping.

Bargain hunters can also use B&M’s scanner in the app to find discounts in-store before staff have marked them out.

And always check if you can get cashback before paying which in effect means you’ll get some of your money back or a discount on the item.
