PRIME Day 2024 kicked off yesterday, July 16, and gamers with an Amazon Prime subscription can still grab thousands of deals until midnight today.

RPG fans who are also Nintendo Switch owners are treated to a very special discount on a physical edition of one of the best games in the genre for 2023.

Sea of Stars for the Switch is available for just £24.99, in an exclusive 29% discount for Amazon Prime members.

The game launched in August 2023 to rave reviews, and its Switch version is currently sitting at a must-play 90/100 rating on review aggregator Metacritic.

Amazon Prime’s deal is for the physical edition of the game, which released just a couple of months ago, on May 10, 2024.

Sea of Stars pays homage to some of the greatest old-school JRPGs like Chrono Trigger, Super Mario RPG, Paper Mario, Golden Sun, and the early Final Fantasy games.

While staying true to its inspirations, the game also modernises the beloved genre’s gameplay and storytelling.

You follow the story of two main heroes, Zale and Valere, who harness the power of the sun and moon to fight against an evil alchemist known as The Fleshmancer.

Sea of Stars features gorgeous pixel art visuals and a turn-based combat system with some additional twists.

Timing attack and defense actions, for example, increases the damage you inflict and reduces the damage you take.

Your main heroes can also combine their sun and moon spells to perform powerful Eclipse Magic attacks, and there are other multi-character combos you can do with members of your party.

All in all, Sea of Stars is a great game, and the Prime Day deal is a bargain on a very recent physical release for the Switch.

Players have only a few hours left to snatch the deal before midnight today, when the game will be back to its regular price.
