Washington County man charged with sexual assault of a child

The Washington County Sheriff's Office reported the arrest of a Hartford man following a sex crime investigation.

HARTFORD, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- The Washington County Sheriff's Office reported the arrest of a Hartford man following a sex crime investigation. Paul Wooddell, 45, is facing multiple charges.

Wooddell is accused of sexually abusing a child younger than 13-years-old for several years in Hartford. He was taken into custody on July 16 after an extensive investigation. He was charged with predatory sexual assault against a child and first-degree criminal sexual act.

Wooddell was arraigned at Washington County Centralized Arraignment and was held without bail. He is scheduled to be arraigned at a later date at the Washington County Court.
