Well, We Know Why Charli XCX and Lorde Have the Same Hair

On Charli XCX and Lorde’s instantly iconic “Girl, So Confusing” remix, they both sing, “People say we’re alike / They say we’ve got the same hair.” Well, turns out that wasn’t just some random line. In a July 17 Billboard interview, Charli revealed, after all this hubbub, that the two actually share a hairstylist: “When I was listening to [Lorde’s] verse for the first time, I was backstage at the show,” Charli said. “My hairstylist also does her hair. He had also just done her hair for the show, too, so he was just with her, and then he came to me and was like, ‘I’m so happy you guys are good.’” This feels like it was an important piece of information. We’ll be honest — somebody get that hairstylist on the remix.

She gave her first quote about what it was like to work on the remix. “When I was writing this verse, I was saying these things to her for the first time.” Babe, we know. “I love that we truly did work it out on the remix,” Lorde added. “There’s something very brat about that, something very meta and modern. I was articulating things I’d never said or maybe even things I’ve never even heard said. This whole thing has been such a huge honor.” You know what would be an even bigger honor, Lorde? If you put out a new album and have Charli on one of those tracks. Seriously. New album.
