It Was God’s Plan to Flood Drake’s Toronto Home

The weather is beefing with Drake, too.

How many more times this year could we possibly say “Diva down!” about Drake and his various troubles? Add another one to the list. The “God’s Plan” rapper was hit by one of God’s more unpleasant plans: flooding in his Toronto compound, given the corny name the Embassy, following record rainfall in the Ontario capital from three massive storms. On July 16, Drake posted a video of rushing yellow waters in one of the home’s gaudy, vanity-filled foyers leading to a gargantuan walk-in closet. “This better be Espresso Martini,” he captioned the clip posted to his Instagram Story. The news comes in a rough year for Drake. Before 2024 could even begin in earnest, Megan Thee Stallion’s January diss track “Hiss” dragged the “fake-ass accents” he uses in songs and poked at his BBL allegations. In the spring, he entered a beef with Kendrick Lamar and promptly lost by all measures after K.Dot dropped five eviscerating tracks, including the chart-topping “Not Like Us,” that accused him of pedophilia and being a culture vulture. The song spent two weeks as the No. 1 song in America. And now, the weather’s beefing with him, too.
